"Its been 2 weeks now since successfully completing my Instructors Exam and I am just starting to come to terms with the fact that I am a certified PADI OWSI. I would just like to drop you a line to say thanks for everything and how much I appreciate the work you put in to not only ensuring that James and I passed with confidence but had a world of fun in doing so.
As you know this course meant so much to me that the pressure to pass it that I had put on myself was immense. As such, leading up to the course there were quite a few nerves along the way. The most useful tool that I had to combat these nerves was the assurance that I had selected the right organisation with whome to partake in the IDC and that I had been prepared to my absolute full potential by you and your colleagues in Oceans Unlimited. As we embarked on day 1 of the IE it soon became apparant that we had been mentored by you to such a standard that we became immediately aware that as long as we did not make any silly mistakes, we would complete the course with ease. This really helped me relax and enjoy the exam and really learn so much about this level of certification from the whole experience.
Throughout the 2 days there were no suprises at all, clearly you were completely aware and in tune with the course content and had conveyed this to us during the IDC in such a way that we overcame every stage of the exam in an almost clockwork fashion. Further to this I feel that I have benefitted more than just obtaining my certification. From the additional activities that you encouraged me to get involved with around the shop and from being lucky enough to assist with the divemaster elements prior to the course I have benefitted from the professionalism of your organisation to the point where I feel comfortable that I can genuinely go to any dive centre and competently conduct the courses that I am certified to do.
As you probably recall I initially spoke to you about the IDC approximately 8 months prior to commencement. Thankyou for all the information and assistance that you provided during this period, it helped massively in my preperation while still based in the UK.
So from here I wish you and all the rest at Oceans Unlimited the very best of luck as you continue with your IDC´s, I have no doubt that as long as you continue to show the enthusiasm and dedication that you gave to us that you will have no problem in maintaing your 100% success rate." "I spent four months in Quepos, Costa Rica, and did my dive master course at Ocean's Unlimited. Dove with them numerous times and can really say had great time every time. They know the dive sites, always good trips, friendly staff and there was always something new to do. Equipment was great, easy to use, and the shop was right in town. I saw numerous turtles, manta rays 15 feet wide, dolphins, enormous eels, lobsters, scorpion fish, octopus, even a red snapper that had to be 250 pounds easy. Hope people looking for a good time snorkeling or diving stop by here for a good experience or to even do a course because all of mine went well." Kiernan Hogan, Virgina, USA
"Ok so where do I start? I could write a whole novel on this. In short, there is no better dive resort, and definitely none better in Quepos or Costa Rica for that matter! I first got into diving with Oceans Unlimited a few years ago while in Costa Rica while there for school. Bob and Kath were my very encouraging, knowledgeable, and helpful instructors. After returning home, I decided to advance my training and took the Nitrox course at a local dive shop. I quickly realized that Those at Oceans Unlimited had something that other shops did not. After a year of diving and experienceing how other dive shops conducted their courses and such, I realized if I wanted to further my diving, Oceans Unlimited would be my best choice. So I returned to Oceans Unlimited for my Advanced Open Water certification. That is when I met Georgia who helped with my certification. When i returned I was amazed that Bob and Kath remembered me quite well. I was treated like a close friend/family member by each member of Oceans Unlimited! Over the course of another year, I decided I wanted Divemaster. I immediately contacted Oceans Unlimited. Georgia and Kath worked out a schedule for me to do a Divemaster Internship. I logged a TON of dives, could have logged even more, but I had some ear problems. I was out diving almost everyday for about 2 months! Georgia, Kath, and Bob were the BEST mentors while I was working towards divemaster. Not only did they have TONS of patience with my questions and occasional screw ups, they worded things in very helpful, meaningful, and non-aggressive ways. They also gave me the opportunity to learn more than what was to be tested in the divemaster exams. Bob, Kath, Georgia, Dorris, Tim, Maikel, and everyone else made me feel like I was part of the crew by giving me my own peg in the shop for my gear, inviting me to bowling nights, and having a few dinner parties. I truely feel like Oceans Unlimited is my Diving home! Words cannot say how much of an Awesome experience I have had with the crew at Oceans Unlimited. For anyone choosing to go Diving in Quepos, you will not find a better group to go diving with, I place my word on that! Try them and you will see!" Jared Bagette, South Carolina, USA
