This course is the first component of the PADI Instructor Development Course and builds on your Divemaster training. The Assistant Instructor course is a 5 -day program that introduces you to the role of an instructional assistant, both in academic teaching and confined and open water training.
As an Assistant Instructor (AI) you will immediately make yourself more employable in the dive industry with the potential to increase your earnings. The Assistant Instructor course may be conducted as part of the IDC course or independently at any time of year. AI credits towards the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) and allows you to gain experience as an instructional assistant before deciding to commit to the IDC.
General course information:
Prerequisites: PADI Divemaster (or qualifying certification from another training organization), 18 years old and been a certified diver for at least 6 months.
Minimum Number of Logged Dives: 60 with experience in deep, night and navigation.
Duration: 5 days

Oceans Unlimited Dive Leadership Program Once you are certified as a PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor or Instructor, you can have the opportunity to take part in our 2 weeks Dive Leadership Program. This gives you the opportunity to gain more hands on experience in a PADI Five Star IDC Dive Center.
Working as part of our team of Dive Professionals you can gain real hands on experience in areas such as dive center logistics like tank filling and equipment maintenance, PADI Programs, supervising and assisting certified divers and dive crew skills.
